Job summary

Texas Collision Centers, Inc. in Richardson, TX, seeks an experienced automotive technician to diagnose advanced mechanical and electrical issues on domestic and import vehicles and perform complex repairs to OEM standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures.
• 4–7+ years of hands-on experience.
• Full tool set and diagnostic proficiency.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose complex mechanical & electrical issues on domestic & import vehicles.
• Perform advanced repairs on engines, transmissions, braking systems, suspension, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Use diagnostic tools, scanners, and software to identify and resolve issues accurately.
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct thorough inspections and road tests to verify repairs.
• Ensure all work meets manufacturer and safety standards.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Review and verify repair work when necessary.
• Work closely with service advisors to communicate repair needs and timelines.
• Help prioritize workflow and improve shop productivity.
• Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostics and repairs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 4–7+ years of experience.
• Full tool set.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
• Ability to read and interpret repair orders.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Education and Experience

• Multiple ASE certifications (strongly preferred).
• 4–7+ years of experience.
• OEM training (e.g., Toyota Motor Corporation, Ford Motor Company, General Motors programs)Hybrid/EV certification (increasingly valuable).

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
• Must be able to inspect vehicle to determine repairs needed.
• Good vision to inspect repair work.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
• Must be able to reach below and above shoulder level.
• Must comply with all safety requirements.
