The Mechanic 1st Class is responsible for the upkeep and repair of a wide array of equipment, such as delivery vehicles, heavy-duty machinery, on-road tractors, and trailers sourced from different manufacturers. They specialize in diagnosing and fixing issues with hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electronic systems, and engines. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday. Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience in preventive maintenance, electrical diagnostics - medium and heavy-duty vehicles. Ability to lift 70 lbs./32 kgs.
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The starting pay for this position is $40.53 per hour with a one-year progression to top pay $47.68. For union-represented postings, wage rates and ranges and benefit offerings are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreement provisions.
