Job summary

BetterCloud in Houston is seeking an RC Auto Mechanic to perform comprehensive inspections and light repairs for vehicles in the auto auction industry. You will diagnose complex vehicle issues, interpret fault codes and live data, and ensure repairs meet high quality standards while coordinating with reconditioning teams.

The ideal candidate has ASE certification or equivalent, strong knowledge of vehicle systems, and a proven track record in a fast-paced reconditioning center servicing

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical inspections on incoming vehicles to assess condition and identify issues.

• Document findings from inspections and repairs accurately and timely.
• Collaborate with reconditioning and detailing teams to prep vehicles for resale.

Job description

What we are looking for:

The RC Auto Mechanic will be responsible for performing comprehensive mechanical inspections and conducting light mechanical reconstruction and repair work on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. We are looking for an experienced mechanic with strong diagnostic skills and hands-on experience evaluating vehicles in the auto auction industry. A valid ASE certification or an equivalent industry-recognized automotive certification is strongly preferred. Candidates with physical auction experience will also be considered. The ideal candidate must be capable of performing advanced diagnostics, interpreting fault codes and live vehicle data, tracing electrical and mechanical problems to their root causes, and completing the necessary hands-on repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. Ideal candidates will be accustomed to working in a high-demand reconditioning center, servicing commercial accounts and dealer vehicles.

What you will do:
