Job summary

Starling Buick GMC Stuart is seeking a Service Technician to join our Tier 1 service team in Stuart, Florida. This full-time role focuses on maintenance and repairs for new and pre-owned vehicles.

You’ll diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, follow dealership playbooks, and explain repairs and time estimates to service advisors and customers. A high school diploma and at least 2 years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of automotive technician experience.
• ASE and GM certification is a bonus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, filter swaps).
• Diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical issues in vehicles.
• Follow dealership procedures for repairs and warranty work.
• Explain repairs and time estimates to service advisors and customers.
• Document work performed and recommendations for future maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and ensure tools/equipment are in good condition.
• Participate in ongoing training to stay current with vehicle technology.

Your thrilling responsibilities include:

• Rocking routine maintenance like oil changes, tire rotations, and filter swaps
• Diagnosing and fixing mechanical or electrical issues in vehicle systems
• Following the manufacturer's playbook and our dealership procedures for repairs and warranty work
• Chatting with service advisors and customers, explaining necessary repairs, and giving accurate time and cost estimates
• Keeping it all documented, from the work done to future maintenance suggestions
• Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring tools and equipment are in top shape
• Always learning and growing with training to stay on top of the latest vehicle tech and industry trends

What you'll need to bring to the table:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years rocking it as an automotive technician
• ASE and GM certification is a bonus, but not a deal-breaker
• Know-how of automotive systems like engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical stuff
• Master at using diagnostic equipment and cracking those diagnostic codes
• A keen eye for detail and ninja problem-solving skills
• A valid driver's license and a squeaky-clean driving record
