Job summary

Evans Tire & Service Centers in San Diego area is seeking an Automotive Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles to MAP, dealership, and company standards. The role pays $27–$47 per hour total compensation, including base pay and additional earnings through a flag/flat-rate system.

Qualifications include a minimum of one unexpired ASE certification or equivalent experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work at least five days including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Recommend necessary services and document them in the customer file.
• Follow safety procedures and report concerns to supervision.
• Maintain ASE certifications and renewals.

The Automotive Technician is responsible for effectively and efficiently diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles while adhering to the MAP guidelines and in accordance with dealership, manufacturers, and our company standards.

Pay Range: $27–$47 per hour in total compensation, which includes an hourly base plus additional earnings through a flag/flat-rate system.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses vehicles according to the appropriate level of certifications/experience.
• Performs work as outlined on the Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Explains technical diagnosis and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include the Store Manager, Service Consultants and/or customers.
• Recommends services that are necessary to keep the customer’s vehicle in running condition; properly documents all recommendations in customer file.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Maintains appropriate ASE certifications and renewals of expiring certifications.
