Job summary

Team Car Care Dba Jiffy Lube in Bastrop, TX is seeking an Automotive Technician to service guests’ vehicles with a focus on brakes, lubrication, and tires. You’ll receive comprehensive training and certification opportunities to perform a wide range of mechanical services while delivering top-quality guest care.

You’ll work with modern tools in a fast-paced service center, promote teamwork, maintain a clean workstation, and use our service software to provide estimates.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years automotive experience
• 1-2 years experience working on brake systems
• ASE certification in Brakes (A5) preferred
• ASE certifications in Engine performance, Suspension & Steering, Electrical Systems, Heating & AC preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Promote teamwork to deliver guest care on time
• Provide excellent guest service with clear vehicle communication
• Maintain clean, presentable workstation in the service center
• Perform complete disc or drum brake service and related tasks
• Diagnose braking system issues and communicate findings to customers
• Diagnose and repair engine performance, suspension/steering, electrical systems, and HVAC as needed
• Use service software to generate parts and labor estimates
• Road-test vehicles before and after service to verify quality
• Assist with ancillary services like lubrication, fuel services, tire rotations

As the Automotive Technician , you’re the go-to expert for mechanical repairs in our service center, trusted with professionally servicing our guests’ vehicles to ensure top-quality work and an outstanding guest experience. With comprehensive training programs, you’ll be certified to perform a wide range of mechanical services, including lubrication, core tasks, brakes, and tires, giving you the skills and confidence to excel in your role. HOW YOU WILL DRIVE SUCCESS:

• Promote teamwork to deliver on time and accurate guest care during all operating hours
• Demonstrate excellent guest service, which includes providing clear communication and feedback about guest vehicles
• Ensure that the service center, specifically their workstation, is clean and presentable
• Must be able to perform complete disc or drum brake service including, but not limited to replacing all braking components as well as performing full brake flushes
• Must be knowledgeable and understand the whole mechanics of the braking system, including the servicing process and must be able to answer questions from the customer
• Must be able to diagnose and pinpoint issues in the braking system
• Must be able to diagnose the following vital components and potentially make all necessary repairs such as Engine Performance, Suspension/Steering, Electrical, Heating AC, etc.
• Ability to use our current computer system to provide estimates for parts and labor. You will be using the following programs and apps such as All DATA, AutoZone, O’Reilly, Advance Auto Parts, NAPA, etc.
• Road-test vehicles (before/after) to ensure all work is completed up to standard.
• Secondary duties may include performing ancillary services such as:
• Lubrication such as Transmission and Radiator fluid exchange
• Fuel Services such as Fuel Filter and Fuel System Cleaning
• Tire Rotations and Gearbox Service

UNDER THE HOOD – WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• 1-3 Years of Automotive Experience.
• 1-2 Years of Experience working on Brake Systems.
• Provide Training and Supervision to the Store’s Apprentice Teammate
• National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in A5 - Brakes Certification
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification(s) in Engine performance, Suspension & Steering, Electrical Systems, Heating & Air Conditioning preferred.
• Automotive technical or trade school degree a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
