Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced Verification & Validation engineer to design and maintain system-level test benches for automotive software and hardware integration. You will develop V&V plans, write tests, and drive automation to improve reliability and speed.

You will collaborate with software, controls, and systems teams to define testing strategies and present results to stakeholders. Domestic/international travel up to 20% is required.

Qualifications

  • This position requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 6+ years of experience in automotive testing or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, embedded software, and control systems.
  • Experience with automotive testing instrumentation and tools.
  • Proficiency with CAN, LIN, Ethernet, and FlexRay protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain complex automotive system-level test benches focusing on automation.
  • Develop verification and validation plans for automotive software systems and features.
  • Design and execute test cases and scripts to verify functionality, performance and safety.
  • Create automation scripts to improve testing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Integrate hardware and software components to build scalable test environments.
  • Lead debugging with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and prevent regressions.
  • Collaborate with software, controls and systems engineers to define V&V strategies.
  • Present detailed verification reports to stakeholders.
  • Review warranty data to identify trends and corrective actions.
  • Travel up to 20% domestically/internationally.
