Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an automotive interior trim engineer in Long Beach, CA to develop high-quality soft interior components from concept to production. You will work with design, CMF, and supplier teams to ensure craftsmanship and durability across launches.

The role emphasizes material systems, manufacturing processes, DFMEA/DVPR, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet premium interior standards.

Qualifications

4+ years of automotive soft interior trim engineering experience.
Strong knowledge of soft trim materials, processes, and DFMEA/DVPR.
Proficient in CATIA V5/V6 or equivalent CAD tools for surface definition.
Experience supporting launches, supplier readiness, and pre-production builds.
Familiarity with soft trim documentation and quality processes.

Responsibilities

Develop high-quality soft interior trim components delivering luxury feel and durability.
Lead or support engineering, packaging, release, and launch of soft trim parts.
Translate CMF intent into production-feasible soft trim constructions.
Define material specs for substrate, foam, skin, and adhesives.
Manage DFMEA, DVPR, and boundary diagrams through milestones.
Collaborate with CMF, design, engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers.
Support durability testing and environmental validation.
Perform DFM assessments for slush molding, vacuum forming, sewing.
