Qualifications

• 5 years of related progressive technical experience required.
• Automotive technician certification(s) from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) preferred.
• Used car reconditioning experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repairs.
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Communicates with service advisor to obtain needed parts.
• Road tests vehicles when required to ensure proper repair.

Skills

Analytical and problem-solving skills

Moderate knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair

Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues

Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software

Ability to read service and repair manuals

Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion

Ability to read work orders

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent

Ability to effectively present and communicate information

Education

Automotive technician certification from ASE
