Job summary

Liberty Hyundai in Mahwah, New Jersey is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join our growing service department. Hyundai experience preferred but not required; technicians from all brands are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience as automotive technician.
• Hyundai/Kia dealership experience is a plus.
• ASE certifications are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Must provide or have access to tools for the position.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair customer vehicles accurately and efficiently.
• Perform maintenance, warranty, engine, transmission, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
• Complete multi point inspections and identify necessary repairs.
• Use diagnostic equipment and factory resources to identify vehicle concerns.
• Communicate findings with the service advisor and management.
• Complete repair orders with accurate documentation.
• Perform quality inspections before returning vehicles to customers.
• Maintain an organized and professional work area.
• Follow dealership and manufacturer repair procedures.
• Meet productivity, efficiency, and quality standards.
• Participate in required training and certification programs.

• Previous automotive technician experience
• Hyundai, Kia, or dealership experience is a plus
• State inspection and ASE certifications are a plus
• Strong diagnostic and electrical skills are preferred
• Ability to properly use diagnostic equipment and repair information
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Must provide or have access to the tools required for the position
• Dependable, productive, and committed to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
