Job summary

Audi Richmond in Richmond, VA is seeking a skilled Automotive Service Technician to join our team. You will perform vehicle repair and maintenance per dealer and factory standards and supervise any apprentice technicians.

Essential duties include diagnosing malfunctions, ordering parts with the Parts Department, road-testing vehicles, keeping the shop clean and safe, and attending factory-sponsored training to stay current with vehicle technology.

Qualifications

• : High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnose the cause of any malfunction and perform repairs.
• Communicate with the Parts Department to obtain needed parts.
• Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
• Advise the Service Advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the time promised.
• Document work performed.
• Road-test vehicles when required, ensuring that customers' vehicles are not used for personal errands.
• Supervise the work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Attend factory-sponsored training classes.
• Keep abreast of factory technical bulletins.
• Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean.
• Maintain a neat and clean shop area and account for all dealership-owned tools.
• Wear approved safety glasses at all times when in designated safety areas.
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.
