Job summary

Preston Mazda, part of Preston Automotive Group, is seeking a skilled B Tech Service and Repair Technician to join our service department. You will diagnose and repair a range of vehicle systems, perform routine maintenance, and ensure work meets quality and safety standards.

Role requires at least 3 years of dealership experience and proficiency with diagnostic tools; ASE certification is preferred. You will document repairs and collaborate with teammates and advisors daily.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an automotive technician, preferably in a dealership setting.
• Ase certification preferred but not required; manufacturer certifications are a plus.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and equipment; able to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues across vehicle systems.
• Execute repairs and maintenance tasks adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and multi-point inspections.
• Maintain detailed service records, parts used and work performed.
• Collaborate with service team and communicate with service advisors and customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics & Repairs:
  
  
  
  • Perform accurate diagnostics and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in a variety of vehicle systems, including engine, transmission, brakes, and suspension.
  
  
  • Execute repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently, adhering to dealership and manufacturer standards.
  
  
  
  


• Maintenance Services:
  
  
  
  • Conduct routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and multi-point vehicle inspections.
  
  
  
  


• Quality Assurance:
  
  
  
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets quality and safety standards before vehicles are returned to customers.
  
  
  
  


• Documentation:
  
  
  
  • Maintain detailed and accurate service records, documenting all repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed.
  
  
  
  


• Collaboration:
  
  
  
  • Work closely with the service team to prioritize tasks and ensure timely completion of service orders.

Requirements

• Experience:
  
  
  
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an automotive technician, preferably in a dealershipsetting.

  • ASE Certification (Automotive Service Excellence) is preferred not required.
  
  
  • Manufacturer-specific certifications are a plus.

Schedule

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Duties are performed on the dealership premises, both indoors and outdoors and on customer test drives. Work includes frequent movement around the company facilities and the outdoor car lot to interact with customers and other departments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear and is frequently required to stand, walk and sit. The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts will include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
