Russell Barnett Ford, Inc. in Decherd, TN is seeking a Ford Service Technician to join our growing team.

The right candidate will perform repairs on repair orders and diagnose needed work, delivering quality service in a family-owned dealership environment. Responsibilities include testing vehicles with diagnostic tools, maintaining and repairing automotive systems, and communicating with the Service Advisor about additional services and time estimates.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of service technician experience preferred.
• Ford Certification is a plus; other OEM training considered.
• Previous dealership experience preferred.
• B level service technician qualifications: diagnostics, electrical, engine repair.
• Dexterity and steady hand with good hand-eye coordination.
• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with electronic diagnostic ability.
• Excellent customer service and basic computer skills.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn new technology.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair work on repair orders with efficiency per dealership standards.
• Test-drive vehicles and use diagnostic tools to assess components and systems.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair engine, transmission, electrical, brakes, A/C etc.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional services and time estimates.
• Execute warranty repairs to manufacturer specifications.

The day-to-day duties include performing work on specific repair orders and diagnosing what repairs need to be done. Responsibilities

• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
• Ford Certification is nice to have (but if you have technician training through another OEM please reach out)
• Previous experience at a dealership is preferred
• B level service technician qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
• Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
• Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
• Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
• Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
• Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
