Job summary

LaFontaine Nissan Troy is seeking an Automotive Sales Consultant to sell vehicles by understanding buyer needs, demonstrating features, and building lasting customer relationships. You will guide customers through test drives, discuss financing, and help close sales while ensuring excellent service.

This full-time role requires strong communication, product knowledge, and a proactive approach to meeting sales targets in a fast-paced showroom environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR.
• Previous experience in sales, hospitality, or customer service preferred.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business materials and instructions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present information effectively and respond to customer questions.
• Problem-solving skills to handle varied situations with limited standardization.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers on the sales floor and identify their vehicle preferences.
• Explain features and demonstrate vehicle operation in showroom and during test drives.
• Recommend optional equipment and research its availability.
• Collaborate with the Sales Manager to compute sales prices, including taxes, trade-in allowances, and financing options.
• Prepare sales documents such as contracts and credit applications.
• Deliver vehicles to customers, ensuring they understand vehicle operation, warranty, and related paperwork.
• Maintain a system for prospect development and follow-up.
• Stay knowledgeable about new products, features, and accessories.
• Attend sales meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Meet or exceed sales targets and forecasts.

Position Overview
