Job summary

Ed Napleton Honda in Oak Lawn, IL is seeking a Sales Consultant to welcome customers, understand their needs and guide them to the right vehicle. You will provide product information, follow up with prospects, and deliver vehicles while ensuring customers understand features, warranties, and paperwork.

This role offers an aggressive incentive-based pay range of $60,000–$120,000 per year, plus paid training, benefits, and clear growth paths to Finance Manager, Sales Manager, and beyond.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Sales or Customer Service Experience
• Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Excellent customer service, organizational and negotiation skills
• Self-motivated and team oriented, enthusiastic presence in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Assist customers entering the dealership and help select a vehicle that meets their needs
• Provide timely follow up and maintain strong relationships with customers
• Explain product performance, options, and benefits to prospects and describe all available equipment
• Deliver vehicles to customers and ensure they understand features, warranties, and paperwork
• Keep abreast of inventory and features to advise customers
• Introduce customers to service department personnel to highlight quality and efficiency of service
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Job Responsibilities:

• Assisting customers who enter the dealership, answering their questions and helping them select a vehicle that is right for their needs
• Provide timely follow up and maintain strong relationships with customers
• Explaining product performance, application and benefits to prospects and describing all optional equipment available for customer purchase. Determine each customer’s vehicle needs by asking questions and listening
• Deliver vehicles to customers. The delivery process ensures that the customer understands the vehicle’s operating features, warranty, and paperwork, and it lays the foundation for customer loyalty
• Keep abreast of incoming inventory, features, accessories, etc., and how they benefit customers
• Introduce customers to service department personnel to emphasize to them the quality and efficiency of service repairs and maintenance available in the dealership’s service department.
• Other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements:

• 2+ years of Sales or Customer Service Experience
• Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Excellent customer service, organizational and negotiation skills
• Self-motivated, goal orientated and enthusiastic presence in a team environment
• Prior proven customer-service or retail sales experience
• Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screen in accordance with local law/regulations
• 18+ years of age or older to comply with the company driving policy
