Job summary

Lexus of San Diego, part of Penske Automotive Group, is seeking an experienced Reconditioning Technician to inspect, repair and recondition vehicles for resale across multiple makes and models.

You will perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance to meet high standards for quality and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced environment. Competitive pay starts at $32-$36/hr, with a $33.80/hr minimum and annual pay of $70,000-$100,000.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of automotive repair experience.
• ASE certifications preferred.
• Automotive-based education or technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, repairs, and maintenance on a variety of vehicle makes and models.
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles to meet dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Communicate technical information clearly to Service Advisors and leadership.
• Ensure estimates and work orders are accurate and drive timely completion.

Pay for this position is based on production and qualifications. It starts at a flat rate of $32- $36 per hour, with a minimum hourly rate of $33.80 per hour. The expected pay is $70,000 -$100,000/year.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive repair, ideally in a dealership or high-volume reconditioning environment.
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications preferred.
• Automotive-based education or technical training preferred.
• Experience working on multiple brands is preferred.

• Accountability: Comply with all manufacturer standards of quality and timeliness for repairs and maintenance work, and ensure that all estimates and work orders are accurate.
• Safety: Understand and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations that affect shop operations, such as handling and disposal of hazardous waste, OSHA, and use of safety and health personal protective equipment.
