Job summary

Tenneco in Indiana is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Quality Manager in implementing and improving our quality systems for automotive parts. You will provide technical support to ensure compliance with customer requirements and drive continuous improvement in product quality, cost, and satisfaction.

You will coordinate corrective actions with customer teams, lead problem-solving in scrap, process capability, and warranty, and train staff on APQP, BOS, SPC, Gage R&R and DOE.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Two years of experience as Quality Engineer in automotive or auto parts manufacturing.
• Travel up to 15% for domestic facility visits.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Quality Manager in implementing and improving quality systems.
• Provide technical support to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Coordinate corrective actions with the customer team.
• Lead problem-solving in scrap, process, capability, and warranty areas.
• Train staff in APQP, BOS, SPC, Gage R&R and DOE.
• Maintain TS-16949 and ISA 9001 certification.
• Interface with design, purchasing, manufacturing and customers on new launches.
• Submit monthly plant PPM performance to Director of Quality.
• Adhere to safety, environmental, quality and productivity standards.
