Job summary

KLA Industries is seeking a Quality Engineer for its automotive operations in St. Joseph, MI. You will partner with production and engineering to reduce defects and support new model launches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience considered in lieu of degree.
• At least four years in quality engineering in mass production machining or automotive supplier settings.
• Proven ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Familiar with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and document control.
• Ability to read blueprints and GD&T; proficient with quality tools and measurements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic statistical tools.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers and act as the quality contact for issues.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Assist production on quality concerns and during launches.
• Review control plans and monitor quality metrics.
• Prepare periodic customer and management reports.
• Support problem solving on the shop floor and coordinate with engineering.
• Monitor portals and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate SPC, gauge, and measurement system improvements.
