Job summary

Ashton North LLC seeks a Quality Engineer to support quality functions and ensure compliance with customer requirements. You will review design documentation, perform audits, and drive quality improvements across internal and supplier processes.

The role requires automotive industry experience, strong problem solving, and effective communication to support APQP, PPAP, and IATF 16949 activities in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) is required.
• Must have recent experience in Automotive Industry.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 Quality Systems.
• Experience with the APQP system.
• Exceptional communications skills.
• Excellent problem solving skills.
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing Techniques.
• Proven technical skills on product and process.
• Experience in Program launch with an automotive manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Utilize core AIAG quality tools to resolve quality concerns.
• Manage Internal and External quality concerns and pareto analysis of defects.
• Act as customer support and investigate customer complaints.
• Assist with continuous improvement activities such as SPC and capability studies.
• Assist with IATF 16949 activities.
• Manage/interface customer quality system.
• Address supplier quality issues and manage Quality hold area.
• Create and maintain approved PPAP status with all Customers.
• Review and decide the disposition of products placed on hold.
• Organize necessary rework/sorting operations.
• Assist with resolving quality problems and implementation of corrective actions.
• Create, review, and update job books with proper documentation.
• Use 8D, 5Why, etc. for problem solving.
• Handle Customer and Supplier concerns appropriately.
• Random audits to identify improvements with Manufacturing Leaders.
