Job summary

VanDevere Chevrolet, part of the VanDevere Automotive Family in Akron, seeks a qualified Automotive Parts Counter Associate to support our parts operation at the counter and over the phone. Qualifications

• Proven experience in retail sales, preferably automotive dealership or parts.
• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance and repair is desirable.
• Proficient with inventory management software and general computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify correct parts in catalog system.
• Charge and cost parts out.
• Perform basic inventory control tasks.
• Code special order parts.
• Record lost sales and emergency purchases.
• Interact with customers at the parts counter and over the phone.
• Build relationships with the Service department.

Duties

• Identifying correct parts in catalog system
• Charging and costing parts out
• Basic inventory control functions
• Coding special order parts
• Recording lost sales and emergency purchases
• Taking care of customers over the phone and at the parts counter.
• Build relationships with the Service department.

Automotive Parts Qualifications and Skills

• Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

Requirements

• Must have Proven Experience in retail sales, preferably within an automotive dealership or parts environment
• Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and repair processes is highly desirable
• Proficiency with inventory management software (such as CDK), Microsoft Excel, and POS systems is preferred
• Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
• Experience with automotive parts procedures, dealership operations, or retail parts
• Ability to negotiate effectively with customers and vendors while maintaining a positive attitude
• Prior experience with automotive repair or maintenance is beneficial but not mandatory
