Job summary

Xcite Automotive in Hardeeville, SC seeks an experienced Automotive Painter & Wheel/Rim Repair Technician to support a partner dealership. This dual-skill role requires hands-on paint refinishing and wheel repair to restore OEM quality.

You will prep, mask, prime, paint, blend, and clear-coat, and refinish wheels, matching colors to OEM specs. Dealer or reconditioning experience and I-CAR/ASE certifications are preferred. Compensation commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as automotive painter or refinisher with high-quality finish.
• Experience with spot repairs, color matching, and clear-coat application.
• Experience repairing and refinishing wheels and rims in a dealership or reconditioning setting.
• I-CAR or ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform paint and cosmetic repairs, including prep, sanding, masking, priming, painting, and clear-coating.
• Refinish damaged panels to a high-quality finish.
• Inspect and refinish damaged wheels and rims (alloy, aluminum, chrome).
• Fix curb rash, scratches, gouges, and other wheel damage.
• Prepare wheels through sanding, filling, masking and priming.
• Match vehicle and wheel colors to OEM specs.
• Safely operate paint sprayers, air tools, sanding equipment and related tools.
• Inspect completed repairs for quality and consistency.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and care for tools.
• Communicate with management and team to ensure timely completion.
• Follow all policies and safety guidelines.

Xcite Automotive is seeking an experienced Automotive Painter & Wheel/Rim Repair Technician to support our partner dealership in Hardeeville, South Carolina!

Job Description

This is a dual-skill position requiring hands-on experience in both automotive painting/refinishing and wheel/rim repair. We are looking for a skilled technician who can perform high-quality automotive paint repairs while also repairing and refinishing damaged alloy, aluminum, and chrome wheels/rims. Compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform automotive paint and cosmetic repairs, including surface preparation, sanding, masking, priming, painting, blending, and clear-coating.
• Complete spot repairs and refinish damaged vehicle panels to achieve a high-quality finish.
• Inspect, repair, and refinish damaged alloy, aluminum, and chrome wheels/rims.
• Repair cosmetic wheel damage, including curb rash, scratches, gouges, corrosion, and other surface damage.
• Prepare wheels and rims for refinishing through sanding, filling, cleaning, masking, and priming.
• Match vehicle and wheel colors and finishes as closely as possible to OEM specifications.
• Safely operate paint sprayers, air tools, sanding equipment, and other automotive painting and wheel repair tools.
• Inspect completed repairs to ensure quality, consistency, and customer-ready results.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and properly care for tools and equipment.
• Communicate effectively with management and team members to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and on schedule.
• Follow all company, dealership, safety, environmental, and operational policies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Automotive Painter, Automotive Refinisher, Paint Technician, Wheel Repair Technician, Rim Repair Technician, or Automotive Reconditioning Technician.
• Experience with automotive spot repair, paint blending, color matching, and clear- coat application.
• Experience repairing and refinishing alloy, aluminum, and chrome wheels/rims.
• Experience working in a dealership, automotive reconditioning center, collision center, body shop, or high-volume automotive environment.
• Experience using wheel straightening or specialized wheel repair equipment.
• I-CAR, ASE, or related automotive refinishing or collision repair certifications.
