Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Fort Wayne, IN is hiring an experienced automotive/electronic technician. You will diagnose, test, program, and calibrate ADAS, perform wiring repairs, service A/C systems, review estimates, and communicate with shop staff to keep jobs on track. A strong focus on quality and safety is required.

The role requires 4+ years of relevant experience and a high school diploma or GED. OE scan tools knowledge and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 4+ years relevant automotive/electronic technician experience required.
• Must possess high school degree or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge of OE scan tools and wiring repair procedures helpful.

Responsibilities

• Determines testing and analysis by communicating with shop representatives and reviews all estimates for repair.
• Performs diagnostic testing, programming, ADAS calibrations and analysis.
• Performs wiring repairs.
• Advises shop of needed repairs.
• Keeps inventory of stock and verifies order receipts.
• Writes, prints and emails service invoices.
• Collects signature or payment for work performed.
• Delivers completed invoices and payments to office.
• Maintains shop equipment and aids management with repairs.
• Collaborates with teammates to schedule/complete jobs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Determines testing and analysis by communicating with shop representatives and reviews all estimates for repair
• Performs diagnostic testing, programming, ADAS calibrations and analysis
• Performs wiring repairs
• Advises shop of needed repairs
• Keeps inventory of stock, communicating with support staff for needed orders and verifying order receipts
• Writes, prints and emails service invoices
• Collects signature or payment for work performed
• Delivers completed invoices and payments to office in orderly manner
• Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshoots breakdowns; maintains supplies; performs preventative maintenance; advises management of repairs; keeps Google Drive up to date
• Collaborates with teammates according to PPT guidelines to schedule/complete jobs
• Other duties, as assigned

Compensation Details

• Pay Range: $60,000 - $95,000 / Annually (hourly pay, eligible for overtime). Compensation is commensurate with skill, education and experience.
• Schedule: Full-Time Monday to Friday 8 am – 5 pm
