About the Position of Automotive Mechanic

As Mavis's leaders in undercar repairs, the Automotive Mechanics are trusted to inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles. They handle undercar repairs including brakes, struts, and shocks, complete state‑mandated inspections, change oil and filters, check fluids, replace worn parts, and dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires.

Qualifications

To be eligible for the position, candidates must: (1) be at least 18 years of age; (2) be legally authorized to work in the United States; (3) possess 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities; and (4) possess an extensive tool box of personal tools used in performing undercar repairs.

Preferred Additional Qualifications:

• State inspection license(s)
• ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5)

Physical Demands

Automotive Mechanics are required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach and perform repeated and repetitive movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair. They must regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
