Job summary

Mavis Tires & Brakes at Discount Prices in the Salem, NH area is seeking full-time Automotive Mechanics to join Team Mavis at one of our state-of-the-art service centers. You will inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide range of undercar repairs, oil changes, tire work, and preventive maintenance, with weekly pay and incentives.

Open interviews are available 7 days a week; simply walk in during store hours for an immediate interview.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Legally authorized to work in the United States
• Minimum of 2 years of automotive repair experience or equivalent training
• Extensive toolbox of personal tools for undercar repairs

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide range of automotive services
• Handle undercar repairs such as brakes, suspensions, and tires
• Conduct state inspections and routine maintenance (oil changes, fluids)
• Assist with tire mounting, balancing, and tread/wear checks

About the Position of Automotive Mechanic

As Mavis's leaders in undercar repairs, our Automotive Mechanics are trusted to inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles. They handle undercar repairs such as brakes, struts, and shocks, complete state‑mandated inspections, change oil and filters, check fluids, replace worn parts, and dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age

• Minimum of 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance, or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
• Extensive toolbox of personal tools used for undercar repairs

Preferred Qualifications

• State inspection license(s)
• ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5)

Physical Demands

Automotive mechanics must stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repeated and repetitive movements consistent with vehicle maintenance and automotive repair. Mechanics regularly lift and/or move items weighing over 50 pounds.
