Job summary

Carvana in Hoffman Estates, IL is seeking an Experienced Auto Technician to perform a full range of automotive repairs—from light maintenance to heavy engine work—and diagnostics on our vehicles.

The role involves diagnosing advanced vehicle electrical issues, including hybrids/electric systems, wheel bearings, and climate control systems; you will work with state-of-the-art tools in a high-tech Inspection Center and, when required, overtime at 1.5x pay.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional automotive repair experience.
• Able to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must follow safety procedures and wear PPE.
• Able to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general to complex repairs on all makes/models, including timing belts, suspension, and heavy engine work.
• Diagnose and repair advanced electrical issues, including electrified/hybrid systems.
• Complete repairs on wheel bearings, axles, and climate control systems (AC/heater).

Pay Range: $21.00 - $32.50 hourly (overtime opportunity at 1.5x pay)

As an Experienced Auto Technician, you will perform a full range of automotive repairs—from light maintenance to heavy engine work—and diagnostics on our vehicles, including:

• Performing general to complex repairs on all makes and models, ranging from timing belts and suspension systems to heavy engine work.
• Diagnosing and repairing advanced vehicle electrical issues, including work on electric and hybrid vehicles.
• Completing repairs for wheel bearings and axles, as well as vehicle climate control systems including ACs and heater cores.

• Ability to physically operate vehicle equipment and tools - must be able to lift up to 60 pounds independently
• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license. Some positions may be subject to an Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check
• An ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing production environment while sometimes being exposed to excessive weather conditions (heat/cold)
• Use of safety equipment that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment
