Job summary

Pep Boys Careers in Spring, TX seeks an Automotive Mechanic to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering excellent customer service. You will explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and coworkers, and continuously learn new automotive technologies.

The role includes mentoring teammates, maintaining a clean, safe shop, and adhering to all safety policies. A high school diploma, valid driver’s license, and in some cases 609/inspection credentials are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of automotive mechanical problem-solving and repair experience.
• Section 609 Certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Successful completion of pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications including brake, hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment.
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers and coworkers.
• Mentor and train co-workers; maintain an organized, safe shop.
• Stay current with evolving automotive technology and company policies.
