Avis Budget Group is hiring an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech) in Frederick, MD. You will perform essential repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of moving vans and box trucks, with opportunities to grow ASE certifications while gaining hands-on experience.

The role requires 2+ years in auto repair, a valid license, and the ability to lift 50 pounds. On-site work ensures fleet reliability and safe, on-road performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience.
• At least 1 ASE certification, with ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year.
• Working knowledge of ASE certification areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel.

Responsibilities

• Perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a fleet of moving vans and box trucks with minimal supervision.
• Oil and fluid services, lubrication, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, and warranty-related repairs as qualified.
• Assist senior technicians with diagnostics and repairs; may drive a Budget Truck for testing or support as needed.

What You'll Do:

• As an Automotive Mechanic (B Tech), you will perform essential mechanical repairs and maintenance on a diverse fleet of newer moving vans and box trucks across multiple brands with minimal technical supervision.
• Your responsibilities include oil and fluid services, lubrication, tire repairs, brake and suspension work, and warranty-related repairs based on your experience level.
• You may also assist senior technicians with more complex diagnostics and repair procedures as you continue to grow your skills.
• As needed, you may be required to drive a Budget Truck on public roads for testing, repair verification, or operational support.
• By keeping vehicles operating safely and efficiently, your work helps reduce downtime, supports fleet availability, and ensures customers can get on the road with confidence.

What We're Looking For:

• Valid Driver's License (Class A, B, or C)
• Minimum of 2 years of professional auto repair experience
• At least 1 ASE certification, with the ability to obtain 2 additional ASE certifications within the first year
• Working knowledge of ASE certification areas including, but not limited to: Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance, and Light Vehicle/Diesel
• Comfortable working in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise levels
• Must have a complete set of tools required for automotive repair and maintenance
• Basic computer skills, including typing and data entry
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, continuously stand, bend, reach, walk, sit and kneel frequently, enter, exit and drive vehicles
• Must be at least 21 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must be able to obtain DOT medical clearance
• This position requires regular, on-site presence and cannot be performed remotely
• Previous Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience is preferred and considered a strong advantage
