Job summary

Air Force Materiel Command at Eglin AFB Florida seeks a part-time technician for the Auto Hobby Shop. • Ability to test and troubleshoot components and systems.
• Ability to operate electronic test equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 pounds and occasionally over 50 pounds.
• Frequent standing, bending, stooping and working in tight spaces.

About the position:

About the position: This position will be assigned to the Eglin Auto Hobby Shop. This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 96th Force Support Squadron at Eglin AFB Florida. Position is Regular Part-time (RPT) guaranteed 20-34 hours per week and schedule may include weekends and holidays. RPT employees receive benefits.

Qualifying Experience:

• Knowledge in the maintenance and repair of diesel and gasoline powered engines which included the full range of repairing, disassembling, troubleshooting and overhauling of these engines, and provided all of the following: Knowledge of the makeup, operation, and installation of complex major systems and assemblies to troubleshoot and repair a variety of systems or to rebuild one or more systems;
• knowledge to test and troubleshoot components and systems to locate equipment defect;
• ability to interpret and apply manufacturer's repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics and engineering drawings, diagnostic codes, computer printouts, and safety manuals;
• and the ability to operate electronic test equipment.
• Ability to frequently lift, and carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds, and occasionally, objects weighing over 50 pounds.
• Frequently stands, bends, stoops, crawls and works in tight spaces.
