Job summary

United Future seeks a Materials Manager to ensure on-time shipments of finished goods, manage freight and inventory, and coordinate purchasing, distribution of raw materials, equipment, and supplies. The role requires leading teams, optimizing processes, and maintaining material flow to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Recent experience in automotive manufacturing plant.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate to a diverse audience (customers, suppliers, employees).

Responsibilities

• Prepares instructions regarding purchasing system and procedures.
• Directs the preparation of and issuance of purchase orders and change notices.
• Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine material availability and prepares market analysis reports.
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to policy.
• Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.
• Develops systems and procedures to implement purchasing, production scheduling, inventory control and traffic for uninterrupted materials flow.
• Develops plant purchasing procedures aligned with corporate policies.
• Develops requirements for suppliers to improve timeliness of delivery.
• Implements visual inventory management systems on the production floor.
• Maintains inventories to assure material availability for production.
• Sets guidelines with suppliers to improve cost savings while maintaining smooth material flow.
• Assists in inventory budgets for approved operating levels.
• Handles changes in product to coordinate parts and materials flow with suppliers and customers.
• Ensures on-time delivery of supplies to support production and shipment of finished goods.
• Adapts computer technology to support manufacturing processes and on-time delivery.
• Maintains bill of materials and databases for manufacturing software.
• Uses continuous improvement methods and adheres to safety policies.
