Job summary

Sheehy Auto Stores seeks a skilled Maryland State Inspector to perform state inspections and troubleshoot issues to ensure vehicle reliability and safety. You will diagnose, communicate repairs, and plan procedures with the shop team, while adhering to all regulations and safety standards.

The MSI will document repairs, mentor trainees, and participate in ongoing training. A Maryland inspection license and a valid driver’s license with a clean record are required.

Qualifications

• Maryland State Inspection License is required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 months of related experience or training.
• Authorized to work in the USA.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Examine and diagnose vehicles.
• Discuss repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor.
• Communicate additional service requests to the service advisor.
• Plan work procedures with the shop foreman.
• Provide labor time estimates to the service advisor.
• Monitor repair time and update the service advisor.
• Maintain dealership safety and vehicle care policies.
• Complete documentation for client repairs.
• Mentor technician trainees.
• Attend company and factory training.
• Keep current with factory bulletins.
• Follow federal, state, and local regulations (hazardous waste disposal).
• Adhere to PPE usage and safety standards in the shop.
• Keep the assigned vehicle clean and free of grease and oil.

Sheehy Auto Stores is seeking a skilled, experienced, and licensed Maryland State Inspector to join our team. As the MSI, you will be responsible for performing Maryland state inspections and troubleshooting issues to ensure maximum reliability and functionality.

Responsibilities

• Examine and diagnose vehicles
• Discuss repairs with the shop foreman or service advisor
• Communicate additional service requests to the service advisor
• Plan work procedures in cooperation with the shop foreman
• Provide labor time estimates to the service advisor
• Monitor repair time and update the service advisor regularly
• Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation
• Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs
• Assist in mentoring technician trainees
• Attend company and factory training
• Keep current with factory technical bulletins
• Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)
• Applies proper use of PPE and adheres to safety standards in the shop environment.
• Must keep the vehicle you are working on clean and free of grease and oil

Requirements

• Maryland State Inspection License Required
• High school diploma or GED
• One to three months of related experience and/or training
• Must be authorized to work in the USA
• Able to pass pre-employment background checks, MVR, and drug screen
• Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
