Job summary

Main Street Auto in San Diego, CA is seeking a Lube Technician to perform basic automotive maintenance in a busy, customer-facing shop.

Responsibilities include servicing vehicles, checking fluids and filters, inputting data into the computer, and providing prompt, courteous service while handling payments.

Qualifications

• Must read and write English and complete the Lube Technician training course.
• Previous automotive experience is helpful.
• Ability to reach four feet overhead, with bending and stairs as part of duties.
• Effective communication with customers and co-workers is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide service to customer vehicles, including checking and changing fluids and filters, airing tires; provide specialized service including transmission, differential and radiator services; input customer and maintenance information into computer; explain service to customers and accept payment for services.
• Input customer and maintenance information into computer.
• Provide prompt and courteous customer service; explain service provided, recommend services and answer questions.
• Accept payment for services.
• Maintain clean facilities (work area, grounds, restrooms, customer area, etc.).
• Observe and comply with safety rules and regulations.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
