Job summary

Centerra Group seeks a Light Tech I to perform mechanical repairs on automotive and gasoline-powered off-road equipment across Los Angeles County. Travel to multiple shop locations may be required, with typical hours Mon-Fri and potential overtime.

The role requires 2–4 years of automotive experience and a valid driver's license. ASE certification is a plus and safety-minded, team-ready individuals are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years automotive experience or completion of vocational technical training.
• Valid Class C Driver's License and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and basic diagnostics.
• Safety-minded approach and effective communication at all levels.
• ASE certification or willingness to obtain within three months.

Responsibilities

• Performs automotive skill level I maintenance on gasoline-powered equipment.
• Troubleshoots and repairs starting, brakes, charging systems.
• Check and maintain fluids such as gas, oil, antifreeze, water, and air.
• Perform quick-fixed maintenance, patch repairs, and tire replacement.
• Troubleshoot EV and hybrid models and perform related repairs.
• Park, jump-start, and deliver County vehicles to facilities as required.
• Maintain daily vehicle accountability and report vehicle status.
• Ensure safe handling of chemicals and PPE compliance.
• Occasional on-the-road maintenance and travel between shop locations.
