Job summary

Porter and Chester Institute in Bridgeport, CT is seeking an Automotive Instructor to bring hands-on shop experience into the classroom and lab, teaching students how the industry truly operates—not just what’s written in a manual.

You will teach hands-on repair and diagnostics, demonstrate safety procedures, and mentor students toward ASE and state certifications, while participating in paid training and growing with our education team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of hands-on automotive repair experience.
• ASE Certifications required within 6–12 months of hire.
• Strong knowledge of diagnostics, electrical systems, engine performance, and repair procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage your day.
• Strong communication and organization skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach hands‑on automotive repair and diagnostic skills using real vehicles and shop equipment.
