Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions seeks highly talented teammates to install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment across fleet assets. You will perform 12V/24V wiring, route wiring for clean installations, test systems, and diagnose issues on mobile jobs at customer sites.

Ideal candidates have hands-on automotive experience, knowledge of electrical systems, and strong troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.

What You'll Do

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.

MECHANIC EXPERIENCE? WE WANT YOU.

Your automotive experience can be a strong foundation for this role. Candidates with backgrounds in:

• Automotive repair
• Automotive electrical
• Fleet maintenance
• Diesel/heavy-duty mechanics
• Vehicle upfitting
• Mobile service
• ADAS/diagnostics
• Telematics or vehicle electronics are encouraged to apply.

You don't need to know every telematics system on day one. We're looking for strong technical aptitude, hands-on experience, and the ability to learn.

What We're Looking For

• 21+ years of age

NICE TO HAVE

• Telematics/GPS/ELD installation experience.
• Experience with Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx, or similar platforms.
• 12V/24V electrical experience.
• Commercial truck or trailer experience.
• ADAS scanning or calibration experience.
• ASE, I-CAR, or related certifications.
