Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions and its affiliated brands are hiring skilled technicians to install GPS, ELDs, dash cameras, and telematics on fleet assets. You will travel to customer sites for mobile installations, perform 12V/24V wiring, and ensure safety and quality in every job.

We welcome candidates with automotive or electrical backgrounds, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. ASE/I-CAR certifications are a plus and training opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.

MECHANIC EXPERIENCE? WE WANT YOU.

Your automotive experience can be a strong foundation for this role. Candidates with backgrounds in:

• Automotive repair
• Automotive electrical
• Fleet maintenance
• Diesel/heavy-duty mechanics
• Vehicle upfitting
• Mobile service
• ADAS/diagnostics
• Telematics or vehicle electronics are encouraged to apply.

You don't need to know every telematics system on day one. We’re looking for strong technical aptitude, hands-on experience, and the ability to learn.

What We're Looking For

• 21+ years of age

NICE TO HAVE

• Telematics/GPS/ELD installation experience.
• Experience with Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx, or similar platforms.
• 12V/24V electrical experience.
• Commercial truck or trailer experience.
• ADAS scanning or calibration experience.

ASE, I-CAR, or related certifications.
