Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. in Matteson, IL is seeking a vehicle inspector to verify vehicle information, identify damage, and document findings upon receipt of customer vehicles.

You will perform day-end tasks, write electronic condition reports, conduct courtesy inspections, and stay current with system capabilities and safety procedures. Role may require overtime and involves outdoor work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Generally, less than 2 years of experience.
• Safe driver’s license required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Verify vehicle information based on work order information – identify damage, missing parts, and mechanical problems by inspecting all customer vehicles at time of receipt.
• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Set up system for day-end; perform day-end procedures.
• Maintain knowledge to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR).
• Conduct OVE courtesy walk around inspections.
• Maintain knowledge of system capabilities and needed software packages and web-based applications.
• Maintain knowledge on improvements and changes concerning body mechanics and inspection techniques.
• Demonstrate safety commitment by following safety procedures and supporting Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

• Prepare and complete all necessary documentation.
• Set up system for day-end; perform day-end procedures.
• Maintain knowledge to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
• Write electronic condition reports (ECR).

• Maintain knowledge of system capabilities, knowledge of needed/job-relevant software packages, and web-based applications.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.

Preferred

• Strong technical understanding, with good organizational skills needed.
• Ability to multitask, follow directions and take instruction.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for prolonged periods of time; ability to bend, stoop, squat or kneel; ability to lift and hold at least 10lbs at waist level for an extended period of-time; ability to lift-up to 30 lbs.

Work Environment

• Exposure to outdoor weather and inclement conditions.(100% outdoors)

Schedule

• Tuesday - Saturday
• 7:00 AM-3:30 PM

USD 15.10 - 22.60 per hour

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is in the range of $15.10 - $22.60/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
