Job summary

Sun Auto Tire & Service in Palatka, FL is hiring a General Service Technician to perform basic automotive services including oil changes, tire mounting and wheel balancing. You will work alongside ASE certified technicians and receive training to advance your career.

Compensation ranges from $17 to $20 per hour based on experience, with a full benefits package and opportunities for advancement. Must be able to work at least five days, including Saturdays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections on vehicles following company and state guidelines.
• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes and other basic services as directed by the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Documents vehicle condition using the Multi-point Inspection and Repair Order.
• Maintains cleanliness of the shop, service area, tire racks, showroom and exterior.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections on vehicles in an ethical manner following all company and state guidelines.
• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes and other basic services at the direction of the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• While performing basic services, observes general vehicle condition and points out any obvious needed repairs or safety concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager. Utilizes the company’s Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order to properly document the vehicle condition.
• Maintains cleanliness of the shop to include the service area, tire racks, showroom and outside the building to maintain a clean and inviting appearance.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
