Job summary

Kerry's Car Care, part of the Sun Auto Network, is seeking a General Service Technician to perform non-technical maintenance such as oil changes, tire and wheel services, and basic vehicle care. You will also assist with driving customers, picking up parts, and keeping the shop clean.

Responsibilities include documenting vehicle condition with the inspection/repair order, driving vehicles safely, and supporting various shop areas.

Qualifications

• Valid driver''s license is required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes and other basic services.
• Documents vehicle condition using Multi-point Inspection/Repair Order.
• Maintains shop cleanliness including service area, racks, showroom and exterior.
• Drives vehicles safely and legally; may transport customers and parts in company vehicle.
• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections where applicable and in compliance with guidelines.
• Follows safety procedures and reports concerns to supervisor.
• Possible weekend work; other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Kerry's Care Care (part of the Sun Auto Network). Today, we’re a multi-location business offering preventive maintenance, vehicle diagnostics, and automotive repairs.

General Service Technician

is responsible for conducting non-technical automotive service repairs such as oil changes, tire and wheel related services, light vehicle maintenance as well as driving customers, picking up parts, and maintaining the cleanliness of the shop as needed.

COMPENSATION

$15.15/hr and up - Depending on experience

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes and other basic services
• Utilizes the company's Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order to properly document the vehicle condition
• Maintains cleanliness of the shop to include the service area, tire racks, showroom and outside the building to maintain a clean and inviting appearance
• Requires driving vehicles in a safe and courteous manner obeying all traffic laws
• Includes transporting customers, picking up parts, supplies, tires, etc. from vendors and/or the corporate office using the company vehicle
• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections (in applicable locations) on vehicles in an ethical manner following all company and state guidelines
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to direct supervisor
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends as needed. Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor

Qualifications

• Valid Driver's license
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Possesses a general understanding of under the hood, mechanical and under carriage assemblies is preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The General Service Technician will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside.

The use of safety goggles or other PPE may be required when working in these conditions.

• Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and able to walk to gain access to various areas of the building
• Bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle or finger objects frequently
• Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently
• Communicate with customers and shop personnelVision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus
