Job summary

Martin Tire in Texas is looking for a General Service Technician to perform oil changes, tire and wheel services, alignments, and basic maintenance under ASE-certified technicians. This is an entry-level opportunity with on-the-job training toward ASE certification.

Compensation ranges from $12 to $15 per hour, depending on experience, with benefits and a pathway to advancement within a full-service shop that offers wheel, brake, and suspension service.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive experience preferred, but we will consider energetic and hard-working individuals with a passion for cars.
• Must possess a valid driver's license
• Ability to work Monday-Saturday
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Motivation to learn and advance in the role

Responsibilities

• Safely transports customers to and from their residence or business using the company vehicle.
• Picks up parts, tires, and supplies from vendors and/or the corporate office using the company vehicle.
• Operates the company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner following all traffic laws.
• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections in accordance with guidelines.
• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes and other basic services as directed by the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Identifies obvious repairs or safety concerns and reports them to the Store Manager.
• Documents vehicle condition using inspection/repair orders.
• Maintains cleanliness of the shop and service areas.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports concerns to supervision.

Martin Tire is the premier shop for tires and all your automotive needs. Since opening in 1975, our customers have taken us along for the ride when selecting replacement tires or having maintenance work performed on their vehicles. Known for our superior knowledge about all types of replacement tires for passenger cars, light trucks, and off-road vehicles. We also service what we sell, providing customers with computer spin and road force balancing, flat repairs, regular and low-profile tire installation, PAX tire service, and tire rotations. Martin Tire & Auto is also a full-service shop, we offer quality automotive repair including wheel alignments, brake repair, and a host of other mechanical repairs.

General Service Technician, you will perform non-technical service repairs such as oil changes, tire and wheel related services, alignments, flushes, and more. While working alongside ASE Certified Automotive Technicians, you will get the training necessary to get to the next level in your career. COMPENSATION: $12 to $15 PER HR - VARIES UPON EXPERIENCE

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely transports customers to and from their place of residence or business using the company vehicle.
• Picks up parts, supplies, tires, etc. from vendors and/or the corporate office using the company vehicle.
• Operates company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner obeying all traffic laws.
• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections on vehicles in an ethical manner following all company and state guidelines.
• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes and other basic services at the direction of the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• While performing basic services, observes general vehicle condition and points out any obvious needed repairs or safety concerns to the Store Manager.
• Utilizes the company's Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order to properly document the vehicle condition.
• Maintains cleanliness of the shop to include the service area, tire racks, showroom and outside the building to maintain a clean and inviting appearance.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
