Job summary

Delta World Tire is seeking a General Service Technician in Lafayette, LA. You will perform non-technical service tasks such as oil changes, tire and wheel services, alignments, and basic vehicle checks under the guidance of ASE technicians.

This role offers training to advance toward ASE Automotive Technician certification and a potential career path. Compensation ranges from $15 to $18 per hour, based on experience, with benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Automotive experience preferred; capable of fast-paced work.
• Must be able to work Monday–Saturday.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and pass pre-employment drug test, MVR, and background check.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports customers to and from residence or business using the company vehicle.
• Picks up parts, supplies, tires, etc. from vendors and/or the corporate office using the company vehicle.
• Operates company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner obeying all traffic laws.
• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections on vehicles following guidelines.
• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes and other basic services as directed by the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• Documents vehicle condition and needed repairs using the inspection/repair order.
• Maintains cleanliness of the shop, tire racks, showroom and surrounding areas.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.

Our ASE certified technicians will be happy to help you on a wide range of services including alignments, brake repair, oil changes, batteries, shocks and struts, belts and hoses, and air conditioning.

As a General Service Technician, you will perform non-technical service repairs such as oil changes, tire and wheel related services, alignments, flushes, and more. While working alongside ASE Certified Automotive Technicians, you will get the training necessary to get to the next level in your career. COMPENSATION: $15-$18/HR, VARIES DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely transports customers to and from their place of residence or business using the company vehicle.
• Picks up parts, supplies, tires, etc. from vendors and/or the corporate office using the company vehicle.
• Operates company vehicle in a safe and courteous manner obeying all traffic laws.
• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections on vehicles in an ethical manner following all company and state guidelines.
• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes and other basic services at the direction of the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.
• While performing basic services, observes general vehicle condition and points out any obvious needed repairs or safety concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager. Utilizes the company’s Multi-point Inspection and/or Repair Order to properly document the vehicle condition.
• Maintains cleanliness of the shop to include the service area, tire racks, showroom and outside the building to maintain a clean and inviting appearance.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports any concerns to the Shop Foreman or Store Manager.

Qualifications:

• Previous automotive experience preferred, but we will consider energetic and hard-working individuals with a passion for cars. Candidates must have a high level of motivation and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work Monday - Saturday
• Must posses a valid driver's license and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, MVR, and criminal background check.
