Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Dearborn, MI, onsite, seeks a Functional Safety Engineer for body and steering domains. 4–5 years of automotive embedded FS experience is required.

You will deliver HARA, FSC, SRS and safety analyses, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure traceability across the lifecycle. Proficiency with MagicDraw, SysML, MBSE and Python is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive functional safety engineering.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 work-products.
• Proficient in SysML and MBSE modeling.
• Python scripting for analysis and automation.
• Ability to collaborate across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Functional Safety work products including HARA, FSC, SRS and related safety deliverables.
• Support impact analyses for assigned Body features and ensure safety implications are captured clearly.
• Collaborate with Feature Systems Engineers and Systems Simulation & Robustness Engineers to develop or merge Gherkin scenarios for safety and technical requirements.
• Support requirement refinement, traceability and technical alignment across the feature development lifecycle.
• Contribute to reviews and closure of Functional Safety actions with clear evidence and rationale.
