Job summary

Ken Garff in Cheyenne, WY is seeking an Automotive Service Technician to diagnose and repair customer and warranty work, perform inspections, and document issues with clear notes and photos.

You’ll grow through Ford training and certifications, earn from $60,000 to $100,000+ per year with a guaranteed PRO TECH hourly floor, and enjoy benefits such as PTO, 401k with company match, medical/dental/vision, and annual bonuses.

Qualifications

• Automotive repair experience at a dealership or independent shop.
• Ford STST or ASE certifications a plus.
• A valid driver’s license and a good driving record per company standards.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair customer, warranty and internal work: engine, electrical, drivability, brakes, suspension, HVAC and more.
• Perform thorough multi-point inspections and document needs with notes and photos for customer clarity.
• Complete repairs correctly and document the diagnostic story to support warranty processes.
• Keep the work bay clean, safe, and organized.
• Collaborate with advisor, foreman and parts counter to maintain workflow.
• Continue growing skills through factory training and certifications.

What you'll do as an Automotive Service Technician (Mechanic)

• Diagnose and repair customer, warranty and internal work: engine, electrical, drivability, brakes, suspension, HVAC and more
• Do thorough multi-point inspections and write up what the vehicle needs with clear notes and photos, so the customer sees what you see
• Fix it right the first time and document your story (concern, cause, correction) so warranty pays
• Keep your bay clean, safe and organized
• Work as a team with your advisor, shop foreman and parts counter to keep the work moving
• Keep growing your skills through factory training and certifications

Here’s how PRO TECH pays you

• Five levels: Enrolled, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum
• Monthly efficiency bonus: hit 100% or better and every production hour pays extra, from $0.25 up to $3.50 an hour depending on your level and efficiency
• Quarterly tool allowance: flag 425+ hours in a quarter and earn $225 to $550. Spend it on tools or cash it out once a quarter
• Apprentices earn tool money too: $1,000 when you start, $500 at each training level, and $1,000 more when you graduate to the main shop

Here’s what you’ll need

• Automotive repair experience at a dealership or independent shop. [X+ years] for main shop techs; no experience needed for apprentice roles
• Ford STST or ASE certifications a plus. Ford dealership and Power Stroke diesel experience a big plus
• Good diag skills and comfort with scan tools, wiring diagrams and service information
• A valid driver’s license and a good driving record, per company standards
