Ford Motor Company seeks a Feature Systems Engineer to architect and develop vehicle features from concept to production, fusing systems and software to create in-vehicle digital experiences. You will define networks, wiring, power distribution, and validate strategies with MATLAB/Simulink and Python.

The role includes DFMEA, cybersecurity, and Six Sigma-driven improvements, plus collaboration with multi-functional teams and suppliers in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent.
• 3+ years in Systems Engineering and/or Software Engineering (automotive preferred).
• 3+ years in vehicle electrical systems/features including networking and power distribution.
• 3+ years cross-functional collaboration and communicating complex concepts.
• 3+ years Matlab/Simulink and Python proficiency.
• 2+ years experience with BDD/Gherkin testing frameworks.
• 3+ years experience with DFMEA/Failure Mode Avoidance and quality docs.
• 3+ years training others in simulation/robustness tools and data-driven gap analysis.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop features at the systems level from concept through production.
• Define network/wiring/topologies and create schematics.
• Develop specs, DFMEA, verification plans, and safety/cybersecurity assessments.
• Use MBSE tools to design architectures and validate control strategies via SiL testing.
• Develop and maintain Behave Python test scripts and ensure requirement-to-test traceability.
• Lead DFMEA workshops and apply Six Sigma principles to drive improvements.
• Interact with cross-functional teams and suppliers to identify tech and cost opportunities.
• Communicate complex system issues clearly and drive data-driven decisions.
• Serve as a key specialist in next-generation vehicle development and digital experiences.
