Job summary

Subaru of Indiana Automotive, Inc. seeks a qualified project-focused engineer to lead installation of production equipment. You will develop equipment concepts, manage schedules, and control budgets while coordinating with engineering, maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime.

The role requires 1–5 years in manufacturing, travel readiness (domestic and overseas), and strong communication. On-site work in Lafayette, IN with occasional off-shift coverage.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or certificate with automotive manufacturing experience.
• 1–5 years manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Word.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects from concept to install with schedule and budget.
• Read and interpret technical vehicle parts drawings.
• Willingness to travel domestically and overseas (Japan).
• Willingness to work off-shift, weekends, or OT as required.

Responsibilities

• Install or replace final assembly equipment to meet cycle, uptime, and vehicle needs.
• Create equipment specifications and project schedules; monitor budgets and vendor quotes.
• Oversee equipment fabrication, buy-off, and installation.
• Support mass production after start-up; respond to downtime quickly.
• Manage detailed project schedules and milestones; track budget and spend.
• Review and evaluate equipment drawings for accuracy.
• Ensure flawless integration with production lines with no downtime.
• Coordinate with multiple departments on projects.
