Qualifications

• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures or governmental regulations.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, service advisors, customers, and the general public.

Responsibilities

• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Confers with customers, to determine the nature of electrical malfunctions.
• Determines malfunction of electrical system by visual inspection and testing devices.
• Repairs or replaces defective wiring.
• Adjusts ignition timing and distributor gaps.
• Tests and repairs starters, generators, and distributors.
• Rebuilds electrical units, such as starters and generators.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
