Job summary

Long-Lewis Auto Group in Decatur, AL is seeking a Service Technician to join a strong, customer-focused service department. You will diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance across all makes and models, with emphasis on accurate diagnostics and effective communication.

You’ll use scan tools and multimeters, collaborate with service advisors, and document findings while adhering to safety guidelines. A 2+ year dealership experience and valid driver’s license are required; ASE certs are a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional technician experience in a dealership or high-volume shop.
• ASE certifications a plus but not required.
• Proficient with diagnostic scan tools and interpreting codes.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate vehicle diagnostics including check engine lights, drivability issues, warning indicators, and electrical problems.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance, primarily diagnose on all makes and models.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify issues and recommend proper repair procedures.
• Collaborate with service advisors and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
• Document all work performed and findings accurately and thoroughly.
• Adhere to safety and manufacturer repair guidelines.
• Keep workspace organized and tools maintained.
