Job summary

Central Automotive Group is seeking a Staff Accountant in Houston to ensure the accuracy and consistency of dealership transactions. You will post transactions, reconcile various statements, and prepare monthly reports to support the finance team.

The role requires 1-3 years of accounting experience, with preference for automotive dealership experience. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office is essential; strong confidentiality, math, and analytical communication skills are expected.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3 years of accounting experience required.
• Automotive dealership accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong detail orientation and integrity in handling confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Post certain transactions and reconcile monthly manufacturer factory part statements.
• Reconcile extended warranty and insurance product reconciliations.
• Reconcile finance reserve statements and post monthly adjustments.
• Reconcile monthly floorplan statements.
• Prepare monthly sales professional unit count and sales achievement reports.
• Research and post transactions on weekly bank statement as needed.
• Assist Dealership Controller with end-of-month closeout entries.
• Backup accounting clerks as needed.
• Assist in training accounting clerks and overseeing schedules.
• Serve as supervisor to the accounting staff in absence of the Dealership Controller and Office Manager.
