Job summary

FastTek Global in Troy, Michigan is seeking a Cost Engineer to partner with Finance and Supply Chain on Bill of Materials cost, should-cost analysis, and cost reduction initiatives for vehicle programs.

The role requires building and validating material costs, generating detailed estimates for piece price and tooling, collaborating with engineering, purchasing, and program teams, and mentoring others in cost modeling practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or engineering (MBA/masters a plus).
Cost engineering software expertise required.
CAD software expertise required.
Tooling expertise with plastics, metal, castings, sheet metal, HV wiring, etc.

Responsibilities

Support daily/weekly should-cost model updates for Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, Studio teams.
Prioritize should-cost model targets for the Supply Chain team.
Run high-level Cost Model estimating using Apriori and other costing methods.
Build core team to support major components and EBOM cost goals.
Review CAD models with engineering for cost-saving ideas before sourcing.
