Job summary

LaFontaine Automotive Group is seeking an Automotive Body Shop Porter to move and clean vehicles, keep the body shop area organized, and support the team in daily operations. You will drive vehicles to and from the body shop and parking lot, and help maintain a clean lot and inventory appearance. High school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license are required.

Responsibilities

• Drives vehicles to and from body shop and parking lot as needed.
• Maintains vehicle inventory appearance by cleaning interior and exterior of vehicles.
• Keeps body shop lots neat and orderly, moving cars as directed by the body shop manager.
• Sweeps, shovels or vacuums loose debris or salvageable scrap into containers and removes containers from work areas.
• Inspects parts, equipment, or vehicles for cleanliness, damage, and compliance with standards or regulations.
• Makes key tags for vehicles.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
• Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle tools.
• Requires the ability to lift 40 pounds of material.
• Frequently works near moving mechanical parts.
• Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials or other toxic materials commonly found in a motor vehicle repair facility.
• Frequently, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
