Job summary

Christian Brothers Automotive is seeking an Automotive Apprentice Technician in Lakeville/Savage with weekends off. You will receive mentorship and training to learn diagnostic and mechanical repairs under a Master Automotive Technician.

You will gain experience across engines, suspension, HVAC, and more, performing multi-point inspections and collaborating with a team to ensure vehicles are safe and reliable for guests.

Qualifications

• Attending an Automotive Program or recent graduate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn to repair engines, steering and suspension, and automotive HVAC systems.
• Build experience across domestic and foreign vehicles.

As an Automotive Apprentice Technician at Christian Brothers Automotive,you will be provided mentorship and training to learn how to perform diagnostic and mechanical repairs under the guidance of a Master Automotive Technician. You will gain confidence,build experience, and the skills required to be a successfulAutomotive Technician.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Workside by side with a certified Automotive Technician and will learn to repair engines, steering and suspension, automotive HVAC systems,and much more
• Buildexperience and skills as an automotive mechanic across a wide range of domestic and foreign vehicles
• Perform honest, clear, and complete multi-point vehicle inspections in service to our guests
• Work as part of a team to solve technical problems quickly and effectively
• You will use your skills to get vehicles ready for our customers, ensuring they are safe and reliable
• Follow and promote our high standards of safety, cleanliness, and organization
• Working together with other technicians you will solve problems, meet deadlines, and deliver great results

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years experience at an automotive shop or Quick Lube Operation
• Shows a high level of interest, willingness to learn, and embraces new ideas
• Good communication skills and strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated and exemplifies a positive attitude
• A valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds
• Be able to work with tools on vehicles lifted above their head
• Work in tight spaces as dictated by the vehicle's needed repair
• Have the needed dexterity in order to efficiently use hand-tools
• Walk/stand for the majority of the workday
• Drive manual transmission vehicles
• Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment
• Efficiently navigate a computer
